Remove the #4 Coil-On-Plug (COP) unit and install a adjustable spark gap tester between it and ground to check and verify it will consistently jump a 3/4-1" air gap with bright, bluish colored consistent spark. Wiggle the COP unit connector and wiring to determine if the spark can be intermittent. Replace the COP unit as needed. Remove and inspect the condition of the spark plug. Replace the spark plug as necessary. Check engine cranking and running compression values of the misfiring cylinder. Check the values of another cylinder from the opposite side of the engine to compare against the values obtained from the misfiring cylinder. Replace the fuel injector of the misfiring cylinder or move the fuel injector to another cylinder to determine if the misfire follows the fuel injector or stays at the location of the misfiring cylinder. It may be necessary in some cases to check cranking and running compression readings of all cylinders on the side of the engine containing the misfire. Sometimes an issue of an exhaust valve on one of the other cylinders on the same side of the engine can affect operation of the misfiring cylinders ability to flow exhaust.
Lubricate and check chassis. Change oil and oil filter. Check air filter and breather filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures. Preform basic safety inspection. Road test vehicle.
